Yulya Ivanova
Yulya Ivanova was born in 2000 year in Bor (Nizhny Novgorod Region). Graduated in the theater and decoration department of local Theatre college. Since autumn 2023 she is a resident of the Workshop Gallery 9B. Now she lives and works in Nizhny Novgorod.

The artist turns to painting as a way of slow and deep communication. Through her works she attempts to find a common language with the interlocutor through abstract images and discovers either their absurdity and futility or noticing short-term success. The same time she analyzes herself through her writing.

At the moment there are two key lines in her work. In the process of creativity Yulya has increasingly moved from associative-sensory abstraction to analytical paintings that grow and layer over time. Therefore now the first line of her work implies intuitive integration of half-erased things, faces, color signals and codes, labels and objects into the lattice of structures. And the second line is aimed at creating tension between the main figure and the fantasy, abstract landscape, as a continuation of the search in figurative painting.
