Gallery 9B was opened in Nizhny Novgorod on March 16, 2018. Its founders are art-collectors George Smirnov and Elena Talyanskaya.
It is a cozy two-storey space in a brick building built in the pre-revolutionary era. It is located in the center, historical part, near the main pedestrian Bolshaya Pokrovskaya street. Nearby there is Sverdlov Square, one of the main public places of the city, where festivals, concerts, film screenings, parties, flea-markets and art-events are regularly held.
The Gallery combines exhibition space, show-room and art-residence. Its main tasks are to support young artists and acquaint the Nizhny Novgorod public with trends in Russian contemporary art.
Gallery 9B actively cooperates with Moscow galleries - pop/off/art, Ruarts and szena / stage. The gallery organizes events not only in its own space, but also on various friendly sites of the city.
Every year the Gallery supports the festival of street art "Mesto".
The venue of 9B Gallery also hosts lectures, meetings with artists, auctions, film screenings and performances.
