Maria Egorova
She was born in 1993 in Shakhunya, Nizhny Novgorod Region. Studied at the State Budgetary Educational Institution of the Nizhny Novgorod Art University, painting department, and then at the St. Petersburg State Academy of Fine Arts named after Repin, painting faculty. Currently lives and works in Nizhny Novgorod. Teaches at the Nizhny Novgorod Art College. Member of the Nizhny Novgorod Union of Artists.

Works with figurative painting, as well as in the field of decorative and applied arts, has graphic techniques and is engaged in mosaics. In her practice, she addresses the themes of everyday life, the interaction of man and place, identity. The artist embodies everyday rituals through quotes from masterpieces of romantic art, through the imagery of the “severe” style she addresses modern heroes of small towns, blurs the boundaries of the virtual and the real in the genre of formal portraiture
