Dima Kadyntsev
Born in 1987 in Novokuybyshevsk (Samara Region). A graduate of the Samara Art College, he studied at the BAZA Institute of Contemporary Art. He is a resident of the Garage Museum of Fine Arts for the 2024 season. He currently lives and works in Moscow.

Dmitry Kadyntsev's pictorial language is based on free associations and combines abstract and figurative imagery. His style is soft and restrained, free of accentuated brushstrokes and smudges, engaging the viewer with expressive juxtapositions of color. The muted, contrast-free color palette of his paintings and drawings is dominated by light shades of gray, violet, blue, green, and yellow.

His paintings draw on the psychological energy of immersions in natural and urban landscapes, random everyday situations, and childish fantasies. His recurring motifs include the human figure, door, brick wall, and deer, while recognizable locations include a forest, a river, and a children's playground.

The artist chooses an irrational model of interaction with the objective world, presenting reality as a shimmering fog of unclear possibilities and elusive appearances. He operates by intuitively capturing an image "floating between the observer and the plane," comparing it to a celestial body obscuring another celestial body for the observer.
