Exhibition "The Saga of the Persits: Family in History"
The exhibition "The Saga of the Persits: A Family in History" is a unique project of the Cultural Capital of the Volga Region Foundation and JSC "Nizhny Novgorod Oil Company" about the newfound history of one of the oldest enterprises in Nizhny Novgorod. The exposition will present the unexpected results of a study on the history of the Persits plant, which is the historical predecessor of Nizhny Novgorod Oil Company. The project will reveal the role of the Persits Oil and Chemical productions in the history of Russian innovations and will tell how a small plant for the production of hot, or lighting, oil has turned into an industry leader in the world.

In addition to historical exhibits from the turn of the 20th century and rare photographs that will be presented to the general public for the first time, this project is unique due to the creative participation of the great-granddaughter of the founder of the plant, the Israeli artist Orna Millo. The works, specially created for the exhibition, will tell about her acquaintance with Nizhny Novgorod and the experience of experiencing, it would seem, forever lost family history.

The exhibition became the winner of the Second Competition of Museum and Exhibition Grants of the Russian Jewish Congress (RJC). Among the project partners is the Volga-Vyatka branch of the State Museum of Fine Arts. A.S. Pushkin ("Arsenal"), Studio "Airship" under the direction of Evgeny Strelkov and the Workshop of Alexander Ignatushko.

Curator and project manager - Dmitry Makarov.
